We will be taking one of the alternative (to the A556!) routes to North Wales, calling on the way for coffee at the Golden Lion, Rossett. Members living on the west side of Cheshire or in North Wales might like to meet us there - we plan to arrive by 11.30 and leave at about 12 (the Golden Lion will be opening earlier than usual just for us!). If you arrive at the Golden Lion before the main 'body' of the run, I suggest you wait in the car park for us. Then we travel on via World's End to Llangollen for lunch, finally taking a short (but not direct!) route to Chirk Castle (National Trust property - don't forget your membership cards) where the men and women of Syr John Owen's Regiment of Foote of the Sealed Knot will be recreating life during the English Civil War. Included for the first time, and very topical, is a "Healthy Eating Zone" ! There are cooking demonstrations by Celebrity Chefs and the Festival continues until 5pm. We are also advised that most of the shops in town will also be open. Individual's interests will determine how long they want to stay & members will be free to depart at their leisure. Park and Ride Buses run continuously from first pick up at County Hall 9.00 a.m. until last pick up from Grosvenor Street at 5.30 p.m. Festival information www.moldfoodfestival.co.uk Members departing around 2.30 will be welcome to follow Martine & Deryck to a pub near the starting point for a drink & chat Sunday 28th October - via Goyt Valley to The Egerton Arms, ChelfordStarting from the Car Park at Tesco, Macclesfield - just off the Silk Road near Macclesfield Railway Station - 10:30am for 11.00am departure.
